How "Live" Event Webcasting WorksSteps, management and precautions...The Basic Process: The basic process is the same for all webcasts, other than differences in scale of the production: 1. Capture: Images and/or sound are captured with appropriate equipment. Anything from a single digital camcorder to multiple cameras and mixing desks. 2. Output: The output from this equipment is fed into a laptop or PC using appropriate interface hardware. 3. Encoding: Software on the PC turns that input into a format suitable for live streaming. Typically this would be Windows Media Encoder for Windows Media format. 4. Transmission: The encoded output is then transmitted via the PC's internet connection to our streaming servers. The higher the speed of this internet connection, the higher the quality of the images we broadcast. 5. Broadcast: This single stream is received by our streaming servers and re-broadcast, in real time, to multiple viewers via a website link. There are three steps to webcasting a live event and we work with you to ensure that all three are planned and perfectly managed to make your live event a resounding success... Step 1: The Webcast The webcast is what your viewers will see and the webcast will be the image of your message. We can take that audio and feed it into our cameras to combine with the video we will shoot. This will enable us to webcast a full audio & video stream of your event. As always, we will check with the venue of choice to see what audio systems and Internet connections they can provide as this is crucial to your webcast. Step 3: Signal Acquisition This is the critical point where we take the audio & video feeds, compress them on location in our mobile computer system, encode them and send the encoded feed to our broadcast system via the venue’s local connectivity. We provide all the encoding equipment and operator with all the hardware and software needed, so you don't have to worry about missing any detail. Our event coordinator will work with your venue to make sure all connectivity requirements are met, prior to our arrival on site.
